Using the CDs

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:- FOR PC WITH 256 MB OF RAM, WINDOWS XP & ABOVE & APPLE MAC.
PLACE THE CD IN THE DRIVE, AFTER A SHORT TIME THE PEERLESS DESIGNS ICON SHOULD APPEAR. DOUBLE CLICK ON THE ICON TO ACCESS THE FILES ON THE CD.     IF THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN THEN CLICK MY COMPUTER AND SELECT THE CD DRIVE, THE FOLDER SHOULD APPEAR, THEN DOUBLE CLICK ON THE FOLDER TO ACCESS THE FILES.

The latest cds require Adobe reader 6 and above to access the click through menu.

To use the designs on the CDs that are Jpeg based  you will need a graphics or photo manipulation program installed on your PC. This will allow you to resize them if required, and it will ensure that the toppers, envelopes etc will print out correctly.

All the toppers on this cds will print at the correct size without the need to change any printer settings if used with a graphics program.

Using My Craft Studio

To use the My craft studio,
Open the program
Place the cd in the disk drive
At the top of the screen click on the add artwork button,
select my computer, cd/dvd drive, then the cd
The files on the cd should appear.
click on one of the files and the pictures should be visible, if you can not see the pictures click on the view menu which is a small box that is on the far right from where it says LOOK IN, and select thumbnails, this will bring up the pictures.
double click on the folder you want to look at , then double click on the image you want,
This will place it on the page for you at the correct size.
You can then alter the size etc if you wish or simply print it out from there.
You will need to use this program for the envelopes and the toppers to print at the right size.

Using Microsoft Word or Works

You can also open  Microsoft Word ( if you have it)
go to insert on the top toolbar,
then picture from file.
Locate the disc drive and the topper that you wish to use, click on the picture and it will put it on an A4 page for you at the correct size.
You can also resize it by clicking on the picture, this will put a box round the picture and drag with the left mouse button on one of the corners to make bigger or smaller.
You can put a selection of toppers on the page in the same way so you can print them all out at once.
If you wish to move the toppers around the page to fit them in better just right click on the picture, select format picture click on layout at the top of window then select in front of text then click ok.
This will allow you to move the pictures around the page.
You should now have no problem printing the toppers at the right size.

REDUCING THE SIZE OF THE ALPHABETS

The easiest way of decreasing the size is to -
open the page of alphabets you want.
Select print
click on the printer properties
select size A5 or A6 in the paper options, click ok
then select shrink to printable area
make sure current view is also selected so it does not print every page in the file.
click print.
This should now print a smaller version depending on the size of paper you selected.

PLEASE NOTE :-    If the backing papers are in A4 landscape, you will need to select landscape in the printer preferences. And if you want a full a4 printed sheet tick the borderless option in the printer preferences

It is also preferable to have a picture browser from which to view the designs (many come with, or as part of, a graphics program).

Get to know your graphics program, it will become a true asset when it comes to crafting with cds.
